Tallinn, Estonia, May 21, 2026 – Bamboo Apps announces the launch of Drivestream, a hardware-free GPS and time tracking solution for field service fleets and mobile teams created by Catrak Technologies, a US-based automotive security and fleet management software company. Bamboo Apps served as the dedicated development partner behind the product.
The partnership began in December 2025. At the time, Drivestream had completed beta testing with its existing fleet management and driver apps. An external vendor handled initial development, but the Catrak team needed additional technical capacity and specific competencies to scale the product. The client invited Bamboo Apps to step in and close that gap. The first version of Drivestream launched in April 2026.
Natalia Minayeva, Strategic Partnerships Executive at Bamboo Apps, says: “This project aims to make quality fleet tracking, driver scoring, and vehicle health tools accessible to small and midsize companies, all inside a convenient mobile app. Bamboo Apps solved complex integration challenges with third-party trip detection and live location tracking. The timeline was tight, but we delivered the first launch on schedule.”
Drivestream’s disruptive ‘No-Cost Plan’ removes traditional telematics costs by turning field workers’ existing smartphones into tracking devices. It features geofencing technology that notifies managers about arrivals at stops, helping them stay informed about when team members arrive at their locations.
Product benefits of Drivestream include the following:
- No hardware – Drivers’ phones do the tracking instead of expensive black boxes or plug-in devices
- No installation – Companies do not have to deal with clunky hardware, extra SIM cards, or wireless contracts
- No contracts – Nothing locks Drivestream users in for the long term
- Low data usage – Employees’ data caps stay intact
- Real-time alerts – Managers know a team runs late before their customers pick up the phone
- Geofencing – When a vehicle enters or leaves a service area, managers get an automatic update
- Overtime monitoring – No unplanned late shift catches users by surprise.

Bamboo Apps and Drivestream continue Phase II development, adding new features and improvements.
